Grade 1 2025: Grade 1 Admissions applications opens Thursday 11 July 2024 and closes 12 August 2024.

Applications must be done on the GDE Website www.gdeadmissions.gov.za

​​Grades 2-7:  Please click on the link below to complete an application otherwise download, complete and print the Application Form for 2025.

Please hand the printed and completed form, and the certified undernoted supporting documents, to the School’s Admission Administrator, Mrs. Deborah Scrooby. These MUST NOT be emailed. This isn't applicable to those applying online.

PARENTS MAY NOT DROP OFF APPLICATIONS WITH SECURITY. They have strict instruction to not accept any forms or applications. Parents will be issued a receipt once ALL correct documents are received by admissions.

  

YOUR EMAIL IS CRITICAL WHEN APPLYING AS ALL FURTHER COMMUNICATION WILL COME TO YOU VIA EMAIL. 

 

Incomplete forms and missing documents will delay your application and you placement onto the waiting list.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:

• ID photo of learner x1 (colour)

• Certified copy of ID/Birth Certificate

• Certified copies of ID’s of both parents

• Legal guardianship paperwork if not biological parent

• Proof of Home Address:

Homeowners:​

•  Municipal account not older than 3 months in the name of the applicant/parent bearing the full residential address.

Tenants / Renters​​ (applications will not be accepted, without ALL the below required documents)

• Municipal account not older than 3 months in the name of the landlord (home owner) bearing the full physical              address; AND​

• The following documents

  • Lease agreement signed by the landlord and tenant, bearing the full physical residential address; AND

  • Rental payment receipt with full physical residential address not older than 3 months; AND

  • Statement of any account in the name of the applicant/parent bearing the full physical residential address not dated less than 3 months

  • NO bank confirmation letters will be accepted as proof of address

• Letter from Employer —if applying with a work address

• Non-South African citizens — Certified copies of work permit and learners' study permit

• Grade 2-7 latest School Report

• Immunisation/Clinic Card

• Transfer card (Grades 2-7) - REQUIRED ONLY ON PLACEMENT

Preference will be given to the learners residing in the feeder zone. Only once all these learners are placed, will consideration be given to others.

Waiting List – All new applications are placed on a waiting list and parents will be notified when space is available this is generally only done by October as applications only close at the end of September.  Regretfully, there may not be availability for all learners as Edenglen Primary School is a high-pressure school, receiving more applicants that the school is able to accommodate. Reminder in order for a learner to be placed a learner needs to leave.
